Research topic: IODP Expedition 341 drill sites U1418 and U1419 are high-resolution records of environmental and paleomagnetic changes in the Gulf of Alaska over the past 56 000 years. A combination of physical and rock magnetic properties provide unique insight to glacial dynamics and sedimentary environments of the southern Alaskan margin, whereas paleomagnetic analyses allow a detailed study of North Pacific paleomagnetic secular variation during the late Pleistocene and Holocene.

Progress update: U-channel samples were collected in winter 2014, at the IODP core repository at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas, US. Paleomagnetic and rock magnetic analyses were performed at ISMER in Rimouski, and CT scans were obtained at INRS-ETE in Quebec City. Furthermore, two research stays at Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon, US, allowed additional paleomagnetic analyses. Her PhD has also included a summer school for rock magnetism at the University of Minnesota, as well as a research cruise.
