Supersivor: Bruno Tremblay
Starting date: September 2017
Research topic: Amélie is doing research on the predictability of the timing of an ice-free Arctic during summer. It has been shown that the internal variability of the model and the choice of a scenario in the large ensemble of the community Earth system model lead to 25 years of uncertainties [Jahn et al, 2016]. The aim of her research is to narrow this range of uncertainties by using in-situ measurements and remote sensing data
Progress update: Having just started her Master degree, she took classes about synoptics, ocean dynamics, climate dynamics and numerical methods.
